This bag is great for beginners. I believe the Rockies II is out now and goes for under 100. This is the first bag Ive bought for backpacking. I am not a person that takes care of my belongings so this bag as gone through plenty of abuse from me and there are hardly any noticeble damages. Only dislikes of this bag is the hood. If the bag is not filled to the max the hood tends to droop down but I found a solution to this by putting everything inside the bag from my sleep mat to my tent which I normally attach to the outside. Speaking of that, this bag has plenty of areas to strap and attach things to the outside. This can be bad being that you might over pack if you are not careful. The weight of the bag is tollerable though its heavier comparing to the newer bags in the market. All and all this bag has stood the test of time, very comfortable bag and if I continue to use it, it will definitely last for years to come.
