Compact at 5.5″ long this 0.5 watt light is really bright at 30 lumens. It will run continuously for up to 10 hours and the LED has a 100,000 hour life span. Built of strong anodized aluminum with knurled anti-slip finish. A convenient pocket clip is built in and comes with batteries. I don’t remember seeing an O-ring or waterproofing seal so I am not sure its if it is water proof but at this price why not get it.

Water Buffalo horn (black) Full Size model – approx 4 1/2 inches in size – avail with or without neck lanyard – $80 US$
The cord on this model is perfect for fashioning a bow drill fire making set in the bush. As well this model has the incorporation of a pressure relief valve, which when opened permits the release of trapped air and full insertion of the piston after use. After the valve is again closed, the piston is retained within the cylinder by vacuum as a safeguard against its accidental loss.

I came across this article http://www.wildsnow.com/202/wool-vs-synthetic-backcountry-clothing-more/ on my search and purchase for a new pair of gloves. My previous Arc’teryx pair had a hole melted on one of the fingers when I placed it on a rock next to the camp fire to dry. This got me thinking if I should purchase another pair of synthetic gloves with the intent to use them for camping and backpacking.
These are the companies mentioned in the article that carries merino wool sportswear:
